en.Wedoany.com Reported - NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL) has invited engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) bids for an energy storage project supporting the Nokhra Solar Power Station in Rajasthan. The project plans to build a 300 MW/1200 MWh inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-connected battery energy storage system (BESS).

According to the tender requirements, the bid BESS capacity must correspond to the rated AC discharge capacity at the ISTS substation point of injection (POI). The successful EPC contractor will be responsible for the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the grid-connected battery energy storage system on a turnkey basis.

The scope of work also includes comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M), covering performance insurance, warranty coverage, and a 15-year annual maintenance contract (service level agreement). The tender specifications require the BESS to have a design life of 25 years from the date of commissioning, with capacity degradation considered based on the planned daily single-cycle operation in the bidder's proposal. The battery's rated operational cycle life must be no less than 10,000 cycles.

Bidders must commit to achieving at least 98% dispatchable capacity at the point of injection throughout the entire 15-year contract period, starting from 100% of the rated dispatchable capacity in the first year.
