en.Wedoany.com Reported - Silver Storm Mining Ltd. has obtained a key environmental authorization for exploration projects and ongoing operations at its wholly owned La Parrilla silver mine complex in Durango, Mexico. The Mexican Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) issued a federal permit allowing the construction of 62 surface drilling platforms and 27 access roads, with the license valid for four years.

Silver Storm President and CEO Greg McKenzie stated that this progress represents a significant milestone for the company's exploration program this year. He noted that multiple promising targets identified on the surface increase the potential to expand the mineral resource base within previously productive mining concessions.

The approved exploration plan enables the company to deploy infrastructure in strategic areas. The plan involves 24 locations in the La Ilusión – Argenis target area, as well as 32 points covering the 14 Marcos and Rosarios – Extensión Oeste C340 zones. In the C340 target area, 3,600 meters of shallow drilling is planned, aimed at reclassifying inferred resources from the former Rosarios mine into indicated resources and extending known mineralization westward. In the 14 Marcos target area, 3,000 meters of initial drilling will be conducted to evaluate historical mineralization down to a depth of 300 meters.

Additionally, SEMARNAT approved a 10-year extension for the continued operation of the complex's tailings storage facility (TSF). The previous permit for processing these mining wastes at the facility was set to expire in the third quarter of this year. With this renewal, La Parrilla ensures the validity of its environmental permits, thereby securing the long-term technical and operational viability of the asset.
