en.Wedoany.com Reported - Oswal Pumps Limited has received three Letters of Award (LOA) from North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) to develop rooftop solar projects with a total capacity of 63 MW in Bihar. These projects were awarded under the PM Surya Ghar – Muft Bijli Yojana scheme, which promotes household solar adoption by the Indian government, and the company disclosed this development on June 14, 2026.

The award involves the installation of grid-connected rooftop solar systems in the Motihari, Saharsa, and Ara regions of Bihar. The projects are expected to benefit approximately 57,492 consumers, making it one of the largest residential rooftop solar projects in the state.

The order value is approximately INR 2.47 billion. In addition to installation revenue, the projects are expected to generate long-term revenue of about INR 2.57 billion over ten years through electricity supply under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model, with total revenue opportunities estimated to exceed INR 5 billion.

The projects will be executed under a CAPEX plus RESCO model. Oswal Pumps will undertake the full scope of work, including the design, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, transportation, installation, testing, commissioning, financing, and maintenance of the rooftop solar systems, along with providing data acquisition and communication systems for centralized monitoring by the state's power distribution companies.

In addition to installing the systems, Oswal Pumps is also responsible for operation and maintenance for ten years after project commissioning. According to the contract terms, all installations are expected to be completed within nine months of signing the respective Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

The rooftop solar systems are expected to benefit participating households, with each beneficiary family receiving nearly 15,000 units of solar power over the contract period to reduce electricity expenses and dependence on traditional power sources.

Vivek Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of Oswal Pumps Limited, stated that this order is a significant milestone in the company's development, strengthening its position in the distributed solar segment and diversifying its revenue streams beyond the PM Kusum scheme. The company remains committed to supporting India's clean energy transition through decentralized and sustainable energy solutions.
