en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Russian government has announced the establishment of a working group on artificial intelligence support measures, which will be based under the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Digital Economy" (ANO "Tsifrovaya ekonomika"), with its Director General, Chulpan Gossamova, serving as the head. This decision was made during a meeting of the government subcommittee on the development and implementation of AI technologies, chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of the Government Staff, Dmitry Grigorenko.

Chulpan Gossamova noted that the task of the working group is not only to promote the development of AI technologies but also to ensure their practical application in the economy. She stated that support measures need to be comprehensive, on one hand incentivizing the creation and improvement of domestic AI models, and on the other hand helping various enterprises, including small businesses, to put these solutions into practice, thereby forming a sustainable AI development ecosystem.

The working group will include representatives from the state, businesses, and the expert community, focusing on addressing key issues in the development of AI technologies. Specific work will be carried out around seven core directions, including regulation and administrative barriers for AI, infrastructure and data centers for AI, data for AI, training of AI models, information security in the AI field, implementation of AI, and support measures for AI. The working group will be dedicated to developing solutions to ensure developers can access the data needed to train AI models, expand access to computing power, and optimize conditions for technology access.

On June 22, the Russian government's Legislative Activities Committee approved a draft law on the development of AI technologies. The draft, which underwent significant revisions based on feedback from market participants, is seen as a starting point for AI regulation in Russia. It introduces key definitions such as artificial intelligence, large language models, and national and sovereign AI models.
