en.Wedoany.com Reported - Matsa Resources (ASX:MAT) has disclosed that AngloGold Ashanti (NYSE:AU) has identified a gold mineralization trend approximately 2 kilometers long at its Lake Carey gold project in Western Australia.
Under a mining rights option agreement signed in February 2025, AngloGold has completed 41 drill holes on Matsa's tenement M39/599, totaling 11,355 meters, including reverse circulation, diamond core, and diamond tail drilling.
Assay results received from 34 drill holes show widespread gold mineralization. Peak intercepts include: hole TYRC089D returned 14 meters at 3.13 g/t gold from 153 meters, including 6.0 meters at 5.54 g/t from 153 meters, and 2 meters at 4.51 g/t from 275 meters.
Other significant results include: hole TYRC167D returned 1.0 meter at 5.63 g/t from 87 meters and 3.0 meters at 5.36 g/t from 104 meters; hole TYRC081D returned 7.0 meters at 1.20 g/t from 74 meters; and hole TYRC088D returned 1.0 meter at 10.87 g/t from 238 meters.
Of the 36 drill holes with assay results received, 22 have intersected mineralization. Peak gold grade reached 12.61 g/t, with 114 intercepts grading above 1.00 g/t and 53 intercepts grading above 2 g/t.
Matsa Resources Executive Chairman Paul Poli stated that AngloGold has been highly active in the area over the past six months, conducting geophysical, flora and fauna, and heritage surveys, as well as extensive drilling.
Poli noted that the current drilling and assay results are encouraging, and given the depths AngloGold is reaching in some drill holes, the company is taking the project and its targets very seriously.
Drill hole spacing is 100 meters on center, with staggered line spacing between 200 and 400 meters. The interpreted gold trend appears to remain open to the north and south.
Drilling was completed on AngloGold's adjacent tenements E39/1973 and E39/1883, with a strike length of 2 kilometers, directly on the boundary of Matsa Resources' tenement M39/599, indicating the continuity of the mineralization system.
