en.Wedoany.com Reported - Japanese aircraft component manufacturer Jamco has announced its participation in the "Next-Generation Aircraft Circular Economy Industry Construction Project" initiated by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). The project aims to establish an end-to-end supply chain for recovering carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) from retired aircraft and reusing it in aircraft manufacturing.

In a press release, Jamco noted that carbon fiber composites have attracted widespread attention due to their lightweight and high-strength properties, making them particularly suitable for cabin wall panels and structural materials supporting the fuselage and wings. The company will participate in developing substrate molding processes to convert recycled materials into usable forms, as well as performance evaluation of recycled materials, defining application requirements for aircraft interior components, and conducting demonstration tests using actual aircraft.

Other project partners include Tokai National University Organization (Nagoya University), Japan Fine Ceramics Center (JFCC), Subaru Corporation, and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), among others.
