en.Wedoany.com Reported - Comstock Metals LLC, a subsidiary of Comstock Inc. focused on recycling end-of-life solar panels, announced that all key equipment for its 100,000-ton annual solar panel recycling production line has arrived and been assembled. Currently, three unit operations—the robotic loading arm, eddy current system, and cleaning system—have passed commissioning and testing and are entering the integration phase.

Dr. Fortunato Villamagna, President of Comstock Metals LLC, compared the production line startup process to tuning an orchestra: each instrument must be individually calibrated and undergo full-load stress testing to confirm performance standards before the actual performance begins. The nine different unit operations comprising this recycling process are being tuned sequentially in this order. Villamagna stated that the startup sequence is partly determined by engineering requirements and also in response to growing demands from potential offtake customers for materials and samples. Currently, two additional unit operations that have completed calibration are undergoing stress testing, while the next three units in the sequence have begun the tuning process.

Corrado De Gasperis, CEO of Comstock Inc., stated that the entire glass upgrading eddy current system has completed tuning, including full-load stress testing. The system operates at full capacity, meeting and exceeding its quality and throughput performance requirements, and is capable of delivering clean glass that meets all customer quality specifications.

The entire commissioning, integration, tuning, and phased stress testing work will continue until late July 2026, when the production line will initiate continuous operation. The first full month of operations will begin within the following two months.
