en.Wedoany.com Reported - DN Solutions will showcase the AM2CNC platform at the International Manufacturing Technology Show 2026 (IMTS 2026), which integrates metal additive manufacturing with CNC machining into a single workflow, enabling direct processing from additive preforms to finished parts. The live demonstration will feature the DLX 450 metal additive system and the DVF 5000 second-generation five-axis machining center equipped with an automatic workpiece changer (AWC).
Up to 30% to 50% of the cost of additive parts occurs in post-print stages, including finishing, drilling, tapping, inspection, and handoffs between different equipment and suppliers. Each handoff introduces delays and quality variations. The AM2CNC platform eliminates integration gaps by completing the entire process from additive preforms to qualified parts in a single workflow with a single supplier.
In the demonstration, the DLX 450 builds the preform, and then pallet automation delivers the stored parts directly to the DVF 5000. On the DVF 5000, the five-axis milling machine performs high-precision finishing and tapping, transforming the raw preform into a finished part, with the workpiece never leaving the workflow.
The DLX 450 is a high-productivity laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) platform designed for industrial-grade additive manufacturing. Its build chamber measures 450 x 450 x 470 mm (17.7 in x 17.7 in x 18.5 in) and can be configured with up to four Yb fiber lasers, achieving scanning speeds of up to 7 m/s for high build rates with stable, repeatable quality.
The DVF 5000 is a compact five-axis vertical machining center designed for unattended automation and complex workpiece geometries. It features a spindle speed of up to 20,000 rpm and torque of up to 230 Nm to meet demanding applications; the AWC enables the machine to continuously cut in unattended, uninterrupted operation, achieving round-the-clock finishing of preforms.
The core value of AM2CNC lies in the fact that additive manufacturing can generate geometries, but alone it struggles to achieve the dimensional accuracy and surface finish required for defense, aerospace, and medical parts. The platform applies precision CNC finishing to complete what additive manufacturing cannot, creating a closed loop from preform to certified, ready-to-use parts. Since no two preforms leaving the build chamber are identical, AM2CNC measures each preform directly on the machine tool and adjusts the finishing program based on the actual position of that specific part, ensuring the tool path references the actual preform on the table rather than an idealized nominal value.
