The entire Xi'an to Wuhan high-speed railway corridor is now fully connected, reducing the travel time between Wuhan and Xi'an to as fast as 2 hours and 41 minutes.
The Xi'an-Shiyan high-speed railway starts from Xi'an East Station, passes through Xi'an City and Shangluo City in Shaanxi Province, and Shiyan City in Hubei Province, connecting to the existing Wuhan-Shiyan high-speed railway at Shiyan East Station. The line has a total length of 257 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
Xi'an East Station has a station building area of 100,000 square meters, with an exterior design inspired by "Qin Mountains and Wei River, Silk Road Chang'an."
During the initial phase of operation, the railway department will operate 29 pairs of EMU trains daily. From Xi'an East Station, the fastest travel time to Shangluo West Station is 24 minutes, and to Shiyan East Station is 1 hour and 10 minutes. Compared to the current travel time from Xi'an to Shangluo via the Nanjing-Xi'an line, the Xi'an-Shiyan high-speed railway shortens the journey by approximately 1 hour and 22 minutes. Compared to the existing route via the Xi'an-Ankang and Xiangyang-Chongqing lines to Shiyan, the travel time is reduced by 5 hours and 19 minutes. The fastest travel time from Xi'an East to Hankou Station is 2 hours and 41 minutes, which is 1 hour and 1 minute shorter than the current fastest travel time from Xi'an North to Wuhan via the Xuzhou-Lanzhou and Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railways.
