Quellaveco operates Peru's first autonomous mining truck fleet, currently consisting of 34 Cat 794 trucks. Since 2021, these trucks have been operating using Caterpillar's Cat MineStar Command autonomous haulage solution.

Santiago Basualdo, General Manager of Ferreyros' Large Mining Operations, stated that these achievements are an inspiration for Peru's mining industry, demonstrating a firm commitment to safe, efficient, and productive mining operations. He emphasized that Ferreyros is honored to support Quellaveco in advancing this initiative with cutting-edge technology and team assistance.

Over the past year, Ferreyros noted that Anglo American has achieved outstanding operational results at Quellaveco through the application of Caterpillar autonomous technology, particularly highlighting the mine's high utilization and physical availability. As a reflection of the Quellaveco multiplier effect, Ferreyros has over 400 employees providing round-the-clock services for this world-class operation, covering maintenance, component repair, spare parts warehousing, planning, and condition monitoring.

Ferreyros provides comprehensive support for Quellaveco's autonomous trucks, excavators, and the entire auxiliary fleet, while also supporting Cat technology for both autonomous and manned equipment. Globally, hundreds of mining trucks with varying payload capacities use Caterpillar's autonomous technology. This technology enhances safety, helps improve productivity, and operates under various conditions such as rain, dust, and fog using advanced systems.
