en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Lishui wind-solar green hydrogen biomass-coupled green methanol project, undertaken by the Beijing Branch of China National Chemical Engineering Third Construction Co., Ltd., has officially commenced construction. Located in the Siping New Industrialization Economic Development Zone, the project covers an area of 48.54 hectares and is scheduled to commence production in 2027. Adopting an integrated "wind-solar-hydrogen-methanol" model, the project establishes a full industrial chain of "wind-solar green electricity—electrolytic hydrogen production—biomass gasification—green methanol." It will install 400 MW of new energy capacity, produce 9,750 tons of green hydrogen annually, and be equipped with air separation, biomass gasification, and methanol synthesis units, achieving an annual output of 197,200 tons of green methanol.
By utilizing biomass to address the carbon source challenge for green hydrogen, the project enables the local consumption of renewable energy and resource recycling. Once completed, it is expected to consume hundreds of thousands of tons of biomass feedstock annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 300,000 tons per year.
The implementation of this project will help optimize Jilin Province's energy structure, promote green and low-carbon industrial transformation, and open new pathways for the resource utilization of agricultural waste. As a demonstration model for large-scale green methanol production, the project will provide valuable experience for the integrated development of "new energy + chemical industry," supporting the green transformation of the energy structure in Northeast China.
