Brazil's Ministry of Communications and others plan to announce digital program results and expand TV coverage on July 1

en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Ministry of Communications (Ministério das Comunicações), the National Telecommunications Agency (Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações, Anatel), and the Brazilian Communication Company (Empresa Brasil de Comunicação, EBC) will announce the results of the Brasil Digital program on Wednesday (July 1) at 9:30 AM in Brasília, Federal District. The program aims to expand free access to digital signals for public, educational, and legislative television services for the Brazilian population.

The press conference will be held at the Anatel Auditorium (2nd floor), located at SAUS Quadra 6, Blocos C, E, F e H. The event will announce the number of stations already built, cities covered, beneficiaries, and expansion targets for the second half of 2026. The Minister of Communications, Frederico de Siqueira Filho; the President of Anatel, Carlos Baigorri; Anatel Commissioner Octavio Pieranti; and the President of EBC, Antonia Pellegrino, will be in attendance.

The Brasil Digital program is coordinated by the Ministry of Communications, with support from Anatel through the Working Group for the Implementation of the Redistribution and Digitization of TV and RTV Channels (Grupo de Implantação do Processo de Redistribuição e Digitalização de Canais de TV e RTV, Gired). The program aims to strengthen public communication and expand access to educational, civic, cultural, and other content for the population.

The program partners with public institutions such as universities, city councils, and legislative assemblies to transmit digital signals from the Legislative Network and EBC channels. In covered cities, the population can watch TV Brasil, Canal Gov, Canal Educação, Canal Saúde, as well as TV Câmara, TV Senado, TV Assembleia, and, where available, the city council channel.
