en.Wedoany.com Reported - PlasCred Circular Innovations Inc. has announced a conditional long-term property lease agreement with Canadian National Railway Company (CN) to build an advanced recycling facility at CN's Class 1 rail yard, Scotford Yard, in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
According to a press release from PlasCred, the lease agreement takes effect on August 1, with an initial term of 15 years and an option to renew for an additional 30 years. The leased property covers 7.34 acres and includes an existing 35,000-square-foot industrial building and a rail siding capable of accommodating 200 railcars.
PlasCred stated that the site will be used to receive and store mixed plastic waste bales, conduct advanced recycling operations, store condensate, and transport finished products by rail. Once operational, the facility will be able to process up to 100 metric tons of mixed plastics per day, converting them into refined hydrocarbon condensate that can be used to manufacture new plastics.
Buck Rogers, CN's Vice President of Petroleum and Chemicals, noted that CN and PlasCred have worked closely on the Neos project to develop an appropriate supply chain and rail logistics strategy. The team helped assess infrastructure needs, rail capacity, and market access considerations to develop solutions that support current operations and future expansion.
