en.Wedoany.com Reported - Lewisville, Texas, plans to increase the daily treatment capacity of the Prairie Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant from 12 million gallons to 16 million gallons. The aeration basin expansion project is being undertaken by Crescent Constructors, an affiliate of Zachry Construction Corporation.

The project aims to support the city's growing population and expanding service needs, representing a major infrastructure investment in wastewater treatment. The scope includes aeration basin expansion, renovation, and system upgrades, forming the first phase of a larger plan with a long-term goal of achieving a daily treatment capacity of 20 million gallons.

"Reliable wastewater infrastructure is essential for planning the future," said Ryan Glanz, Vice President of Crescent Constructors. The company expressed gratitude for the opportunity to support the City of Lewisville in investing in projects that serve residents, businesses, and future development.

Aaron Russell, Director of Public Works for the City of Lewisville, noted that as the city continues to grow, investing in critical infrastructure is necessary to maintain high service levels. This expansion is a strategic investment in the community's future, aimed at increasing system capacity and reliability to meet development needs for decades to come.

The scope of work includes demolishing old facilities to make space, constructing a new blower building, and renovating existing influent facilities, aeration basins, and the Return Activated Waste/Waste Activated Sludge (RAW/WAS) building. The project also involves related piping, electrical, control, and site improvement work.

Construction will take place within an operating wastewater treatment plant. Crescent Constructors will coordinate phased construction, electrical and control integration, vendor representatives, and planned shutdowns to minimize impact on plant operations. The project is scheduled for final completion on November 28, 2028.

This contract award reflects Zachry Construction Corporation's continued expansion in the water infrastructure sector.
