en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Ballan Road intersection upgrade project in Wyndham Vale, Australia, has entered a critical construction phase. Currently, the construction team is working on the southern half of the intersection. The project aims to improve traffic flow, alleviate congestion, and enhance safety at one of the busiest intersections in the region.

Ballan Road intersection upgrade achieves significant progress

To facilitate the construction of the southern half, traffic has been diverted to newly completed lanes. As part of the traffic adjustments, the northern section of McGrath Road has been reopened, but only for left-in and left-out movements; Greens Road and the southern section of McGrath Road at the Ballan Road intersection will be closed until early 2027. During most of the construction period, Ballan Road will maintain one lane in each direction.

Alec Say, Deputy Project Director of Big Build Roads, stated that the project has reached a significant milestone. This upgrade will alleviate congestion and improve safety for thousands of drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists who use the intersection daily. Although construction will cause some disruptions, the project team will make every effort to minimize the impact on the community. Access to surrounding residences, businesses, and essential services will be maintained during construction, and detour plans for pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport will be implemented.

The Ballan Road intersection upgrade is expected to provide more reliable and smoother traffic for road users passing through the rapidly developing Wyndham Vale community.
