en.Wedoany.com Reported - Keepmoat has launched two major residential development projects in North Halifax, planning to deliver nearly 250 new homes as part of Calderdale Council's wider regeneration plan.
The two projects, named Fields Edge and Oaklands, are part of Calderdale Council's North Halifax Transformation Programme, with housebuilder Keepmoat investing over £50 million in total. Spanning three brownfield sites across Ovenden, Mixenden, and Illingworth, the projects will bring much-needed housing to the area, including 53 affordable homes managed by a local housing provider.
These projects have received £7.8 million in funding from Homes England through its Brownfield, Infrastructure and Land (BIL) grant programme. This funding has helped cover the extensive remediation and site preparation work required to make the projects viable. In addition to housing investment, Keepmoat has committed £1.4 million to community projects nationwide, supporting initiatives in schools, healthcare, public transport, and environmental improvements.
Warren Thompson, Regional Managing Director of Keepmoat Yorkshire West, said it is always an exciting time when new projects break ground. The company aims to build communities and transform the lives of local residents, with Fields Edge and Oaklands being key parts of its long-term commitment to supporting North Halifax's regeneration ambitions. He believes these brownfield sites have great potential, and collaboration with the council and local housing associations is a recipe for success. Beyond new housing, Keepmoat is also investing in public open spaces, infrastructure, and local connectivity. As part of the wider regeneration plan, these projects will also include biodiversity improvements, new public open spaces and tree planting, as well as supporting infrastructure and traffic calming measures aimed at improving connectivity and the local environment.
