en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Saudi National Water Company (NWC) completed 50 water supply and sanitation projects in the first half of this year, with a total investment exceeding 2.4 billion Saudi riyals (approximately $640 million).

The state-owned utility stated that these projects are distributed across multiple regions of Saudi Arabia, aiming to expand the coverage of water supply and sewage treatment services, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen the national water infrastructure.

The completed projects include 33 water supply projects valued at over 1.1 billion Saudi riyals, and 17 sanitation projects valued at 1.3 billion Saudi riyals. The work involves the expansion of main pipelines and branch networks across various parts of Saudi Arabia.

NWC laid more than 1,360 kilometers of pipelines in these projects, including 883 kilometers of water supply networks and 477 kilometers of sewage networks.

The projects increased operational water storage capacity by 210,000 cubic meters, enhanced the treatment capacity of sewage treatment plants by 15,500 cubic meters per day, and boosted the capacity of pumping stations and lift stations by 307,000 cubic meters per day.

These developments align with NWC's governance standards and the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, a national plan aimed at modernizing infrastructure, expanding the reach of basic services, and improving the quality and reliability of public utilities across the country.
