At a meeting held earlier this month at West Palm Beach City Hall, the Evaluation and Selection Committee heard presentations from the finalist groups and ranked the proposals. After deliberation, Breakwater Hospitality Group was designated as the preferred partner to design, build, and operate the proposed waterfront restaurant at Currie Park, and will proceed to contract negotiations.

The proposed restaurant concept, named "Sea Salt Beach House," is positioned as a modern waterfront destination that transcends a traditional dining venue, aiming to create a vibrant community gathering space along the Intracoastal Waterway. The venue plans approximately 378 seats, including indoor dining areas, a covered terrace, and open-air seating inspired by a relaxed coastal aesthetic, along with a rooftop event space accommodating 320 guests, designed for weddings, community celebrations, municipal events, and other special occasions. The project is being developed in collaboration with the award-winning Bigtime Design Studios, known for creating high-concept, high-style public space environments.

Beyond dining, the concept plans to introduce expanded public park activities, including a family play area, a convenient takeout kiosk, and a year-round calendar of events designed to activate the waterfront. Planned activities include fitness classes, family-friendly events, pop-up markets, live entertainment, and seasonal community programs, creating a daily destination for residents and visitors. As part of the broader redevelopment plan for Currie Park, the project aims to enhance public access to the waterfront while introducing new dining, entertainment, and community gathering opportunities.

This selection marks another milestone in Breakwater Hospitality Group's continued expansion in high-profile public-private waterfront redevelopment projects in South Florida, with contract negotiations set to begin.
