en.Wedoany.com Reported - nLighten has completed the renovation of its Bristol data center, an upgrade designed to support higher-density, AI-ready infrastructure to meet the growing demand for computing power across the UK.

This project is part of nLighten's broader UK expansion plan. The company is investing over £100 million in its network to expand digital infrastructure capacity and support growth in the technology sector, particularly in regions with increasing demand.
The Bristol upgrade aims to provide low-latency, high-performance computing infrastructure for data-intensive applications such as AI and cloud services. The renovated facility includes infrastructure upgraded for high-density AI workloads, adjusted rack configurations, and additional data center space. Improvements include enhanced cooling and power systems targeting a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.2-1.3, along with expanded carrier-neutral connectivity. This upgrade has doubled the site's AI-ready power capacity.
The renovation is expected to create local jobs, with project activities potentially supporting approximately 30-40 positions. Three local contractors were involved in the work, reflecting the role of digital infrastructure investment in regional employment and supply chains.
As AI adoption increases across industries, demand for regional infrastructure is also growing. Bristol's technology ecosystem, combined with its strengths in defense and AI research, makes it a location of choice for organizations seeking low-latency, secure infrastructure close to data generation sources. The facility is also designed to serve as a Sovereign Infrastructure Hub for organizations with data residency and security requirements, including support for emerging quantum-safe capabilities.
This renovation aligns with nLighten's broader strategy to expand its edge data center platform across Europe and increase regional digital infrastructure capacity.
