en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 1, Henan Province added three new scheduled China-Europe (Asia) freight train routes, all based at the Xinzheng Station in the Zhengzhou International Land Port Airport Zone. These new routes precisely cover three core corridors: the ASEAN return route, the northern port route, and the western main line, addressing the shortcomings in Henan's freight train operations. The network layout is becoming more comprehensive, and the capacity structure is continuously optimized, providing crucial support for expanding routes, increasing volume, improving quality, and enhancing efficiency of Henan's China-Europe freight trains
The three new scheduled routes include a southbound route from Mohan to Xinzheng/Putian for ASEAN return trips, operating two trains per week. This is the province's first scheduled return train route in the ASEAN direction, effectively filling the gap in regular return capacity from ASEAN and ensuring stable return shipments of bulk commodities such as tapioca starch, rubber, and tropical fruits, further strengthening the province's supply chain integration capabilities with the RCEP region. The northbound route from Xinzheng/Putian to Manzhouli is the province's first scheduled train route departing via the Manzhouli port, addressing the shortage of regular capacity on the northern corridor. It strongly supports the aggregation of high-time-sensitive cargo such as cross-border e-commerce and postal parcels to Russia, significantly improving train operation timeliness and plan fulfillment rates. The westbound route from Xinzheng/Putian to Alashankou effectively alleviates capacity pressure on the western main line, densifies the main China-Europe corridor, and continuously strengthens the westward radiation and driving capacity of the Zhengzhou hub.
It is reported that since 2026, the operational quality and efficiency of Henan's China-Europe (Asia) freight trains have steadily improved. From January to May, a total of 1,556 trains were operated, a year-on-year increase of 25.7%, with substantial growth in both cargo weight and value. Leveraging this expansion of scheduled routes, combined with the upcoming railway connection line at Xinzheng Station, the Zhengzhou International Land Port Airport Zone will overcome development bottlenecks such as limited routes, weak capacity, and operational constraints. Meanwhile, all existing scheduled China-Europe and China-Central Asia routes in Henan Province now support dual-site operations, marking the official formation of a dual-site linkage between Putian and Xinzheng at the China-Europe Freight Train Zhengzhou Assembly Center. This lays a solid hardware foundation for expanding train volume, improving quality, aggregating cargo sources, and integrating transportation, trade, and industry.
