en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Cambodia branch of China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) recently signed a commercial contract with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Cambodia for the upgrading and renovation project of Cambodia National Road No. 1 and Bavet Customs. Located in Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia, the project mainly includes the expansion of approximately 7.58 kilometers of the Bavet section of Cambodia National Road No. 1 and ancillary stormwater drainage works, road expansion and stormwater drainage works in the Bavet Customs area, and the construction of a new customs office building.

China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) is a core enterprise under China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) specializing in overseas engineering contracting, with extensive experience in building transport infrastructure in Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Cambodia National Road No. 1 is a vital international corridor connecting Cambodia to Vietnam, while the Bavet border checkpoint is one of the main land ports on the Cambodia-Vietnam border, handling substantial volumes of goods and passenger clearance between the two countries.

As a key infrastructure upgrade project in Cambodia, upon completion, it will further improve the transportation and supporting facilities around the Bavet border checkpoint, effectively enhance the traffic capacity of the Bavet section of National Road No. 1 and the port's service functions, optimize the customs clearance environment at Bavet Customs, increase the efficiency of cross-border logistics transportation, and provide strong support for the efficient operation of Cambodia's international logistics corridor.

Bavet City is located in Svay Rieng Province in southeastern Cambodia, at a key node of the Phnom Penh-Ho Chi Minh City economic corridor. With the acceleration of ASEAN economic integration and the deepening implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement, Cambodia's demand for cross-border transport infrastructure continues to grow. This upgrading project undertaken by CRBC will play a positive role in promoting regional connectivity and local economic development.
