For the three months ended May 31, 2026, net income attributable to Greenbrier was $19 million, or $0.60 per diluted share, on revenue of $576.5 million. In the same period of fiscal 2025, net income was $60 million, or $1.86 per diluted share, on revenue of $843 million. During the quarter, Greenbrier received orders for 2,200 new railcars valued at $340 million, delivered 3,600 railcars, and had a backlog of 13,800 railcars with an estimated value of $2 billion, achieving a capacity utilization rate of 99%.

Hitachi Rail has completed its acquisition of Clever Devices. Hitachi Rail stated that this move expands its footprint in intelligent transportation solutions, with expected revenue exceeding $220 million in 2026, and strengthens its North American operations. Headquartered in the United States, Clever Devices employs over 600 people, serves eight of the top ten transit agencies in North America, and operates in Europe, Brazil, and Chile. Hitachi Rail believes that Clever Devices' onboard and centralized data solutions complement its HMAX Mobility AI suite. Frank Antonysamy has been appointed CEO of Clever Devices; he previously served as Chief Growth Officer at Hitachi Digital, where he led the launch of Hitachi's industrial AI portfolio.
