en.Wedoany.com Reported - Canadian exploration company Capella Minerals Ltd. (TSX Venture Exchange: CMIL; OTC Pink: CMILF; Frankfurt Stock Exchange: N7D) has initiated exploration diamond drilling operations at the Killero W gold-copper project in the Central Lapland Greenstone Belt of northern Finland. The current drilling is focused on two initial targets, PKW-1 and PKW-2, marking the first diamond drilling ever conducted in this area. The program follows the recently completed Killero E project (9 holes totaling 2,008 meters).
Killero W is one of five northern Finland projects forming part of Capella's earn-in joint venture with Turkish mining company Tümad Madencilik Sanayi Ve Ticaret A.S., with the other four being Killero E, Jolhikko, Seiseunselka, and Saattopora W. All five projects are located approximately 40 kilometers southwest of Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd.'s operating Kittila gold mine. Following Agnico's acquisition of Rupert Resources Ltd. on June 16, 2026, the area is now completely surrounded by Agnico's mineral claims.
Targets PKW-1 and PKW-2 were identified based on three geological criteria: gold-copper anomalies in basal till from historical Anglo American regional geochemical surveys; strongly magnetic host rocks (interpreted as fine-grained metagabbro or mafic metavolcanic rocks, favorable host rocks for goldcopper mineralization); and northeast-trending faults or shear zones cutting through the area. Capella currently holds an 80% interest in these five northern Finland projects, with the remaining 20% held by Cullen Resources Ltd. Capella earned this 80% interest by fulfilling all exploration commitments under the earn-in agreement announced on August 24, 2021.
Capella President and CEO Eric Roth stated that the company is pleased to commence the first diamond drilling at the Killero W project, with initial focus on two gold-copper targets defined by coincident basal till anomalies, favorable host rocks, and cross-cutting structural corridors, while noting the potential to define additional targets beyond these core areas.
At the Jolhikko and Seisunselka gold targets in northern Finland, four exploration lines of basal till and bedrock top sampling have been completed, with 102 basal till samples and 55 bedrock top samples collected and sent to ALS Laboratories for analysis. Once all results are reviewed and interpreted, potential targets for subsequent diamond drilling will be identified.

Capella is a Canadian exploration and development company focused on generating gold-copper projects globally. On January 15, 2026, the company announced the signing of a binding letter of intent with Verde Metals regarding an earn-in agreement for the Solana iron oxide copper-gold project in southern Spain. Capella signed a definitive agreement with Tümad on September 2, 2025, with Tümad's first-year minimum investment commitment including up to 12,000 meters of diamond drilling on gold-copper projects in the Central Lapland Greenstone Belt of northern Finland and the Hessjogruva copper-cobalt-zinc VMS project in central Norway. Capella also retains a 10% carried interest in the Løkken copper-cobalt-zinc VMS project in central Norway until production, in partnership with Teako Minerals Corp. Additionally, Capella holds net smelter royalties on the Savant gold project in Ontario, Canada (BeMetals Corp.) and the Central Finland lithium project (Grit Metals Corp.).
