en.Wedoany.com Reported - Seacape and Chile's Ventanas Port (PVSA) have inaugurated a new logistics center in Puchuncaví, aimed at providing comprehensive port services for the country's metal processing and manufacturing industries. The center includes a 3,000-square-meter cargo storage and distribution warehouse with multiple access points, designed to enhance the logistics efficiency of steel operations.

This new infrastructure, named La Chocota, was jointly promoted by the two companies through a long-term strategic alliance, aiming to optimize steel distribution to key production sectors in central Chile. PVSA is a subsidiary of the Sigdo Koppers Group.
At the inauguration ceremony, PVSA General Manager Jorge Oyarce Santibáñez stated that the project represents a significant advancement in the Port 2030 Challenge and reflects the results of implementing a cargo diversification strategy. Oyarce noted that the port is consolidating its position as a multi-purpose platform through its partnership with Seacape.
Ricardo Vergara San Martín, Director of Seacape Latin America, pointed out that the logistics model is designed to transport more cargo with fewer trips, helping to ensure operational continuity, save fuel, and reduce the region's carbon footprint. Vergara emphasized that Ventanas Port's location in the region offers a strategic advantage for steel imports, enabling the integration of a complete chain from maritime unloading and covered storage to land logistics.

PVSA Board Chairman Juan Eduardo Errázuriz stated that this milestone helps Chile develop its foreign trade and strengthen port development.
