en.Wedoany.com Reported - Vodafone has entered into a five-year technology partnership with Dell to expand its data center capacity in Spain, aiming to meet the growing demand for services related to artificial intelligence, cloud computing, edge computing, and advanced data analytics. This initiative leverages a flexible consumption model based on Dell APEX infrastructure, modernizing facilities located in Spain through a pay-per-use system that allows computing and storage resource consumption to be dynamically adjusted according to actual needs.

This partnership comes at a time of strong growth in demand for digital infrastructure. The expansion of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, and advanced analytics continues to drive up the storage and processing needs of businesses and public institutions. Against this backdrop, Vodafone Spain will strengthen its data center capacity to offer localized hosting services, achieving higher performance, availability, and security. The company believes that having domestic infrastructure is key to responding to the digital transformation demands of the business sector and the public sector.
Using Dell APEX infrastructure allows technology capacity to be consumed based on real-time needs, thereby reducing initial investment and facilitating more efficient operational cost planning. This model is also designed to accelerate the launch of new digital services. Carlos Becker, Director of Business Marketing and Business Development at Vodafone, stated that this agreement is a key milestone in strengthening Spain's digital backbone. He added that the expansion of data centers will enable Spanish businesses and public institutions to access secure, high-performance infrastructure, while helping to keep data and critical capabilities within the country.
As part of the agreement, Dell will manage the entire lifecycle of the deployed infrastructure, ensuring service levels that maintain high availability and operational continuity. This allows Vodafone to focus its resources on developing new services for enterprise customers. The technology update also includes energy efficiency improvements aimed at reducing data center power consumption, supporting Vodafone Spain's sustainability commitments, with this evolution expected to reduce carbon emissions associated with digital infrastructure.
Isabel Reis, General Manager of Dell Technologies for the Iberian region, stated that this partnership will provide scalable and energy-efficient infrastructure capable of supporting workloads related to artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and edge computing. She explained that the platform will offer Spanish organizations a resilient technology foundation to tackle new digital projects.
