Wedoany.com Report-Apr. 18, Homes England, the UK’s housing and regeneration agency, has partnered with HSBC UK to provide a multimillion-pound financing package to Wyatt Homes, a housing developer. The funding, facilitated through the Home Building Fund, supports the government’s initiative to collaborate with private sector partners to construct 1.5 million homes during the current parliamentary term.
The move builds upon the previous finance agreement in 2022 between Homes England and HSBC UK.
The financial support will enable Wyatt Homes to develop over 300 homes annually across Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset, and Wiltshire. This includes a range of new affordable housing options to address local housing needs in these regions. A previous agreement in 2022 between Homes England and HSBC UK supported the construction of over 1,000 family homes across multiple locations, demonstrating the impact of such partnerships.
Nigel Barclay, Homes England’s loans director, emphasized the agency’s commitment to fostering collaboration: “As the government’s housing and regeneration agency, we are committed to working in partnership with organisations in both the public and private sector, to achieve their ambitions and develop much-needed new homes across the country. Supporting Wyatt Homes’ ambition to grow housing delivery to over 300 homes per year across developments in Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset and Wiltshire is an excellent example of how the agency’s Home Building Fund can be deployed alongside private-sector capital from HSBC UK, to deliver high-quality new homes in priority locations while supporting the growth of small and medium house builders, that are crucial to building a diverse and resilient housing sector.”
Dan Wright, HSBC UK’s housing head, highlighted the ongoing support for Wyatt Homes: “Having supported Wyatt Homes over the past five years, we’re thrilled to continue backing its growth journey. This substantial finance package will bolster the business’s operations, enabling it to increase its annual output and address the urgent need for housing in the South of England. Additionally, the financing strengthens our expanding partnership with Homes England to support house building across the country.”
Wyatt Homes, with over 30 years of experience, focuses on traditional homebuilding methods. The company has previously developed properties such as Luzborough Green in Romsey, Weatherbury Place in Puddletown, Harbour Ridge at Canford Cliffs, and Chapel Fields in South Petherton.
This initiative reflects a broader effort to address housing demand in the UK through strategic partnerships. By combining public and private funding, the collaboration aims to deliver high-quality homes, support regional development, and strengthen the housing sector’s resilience. The focus on affordable housing options ensures that the project meets diverse community needs, contributing to sustainable growth in southern England.
