en.Wedoany.com Reported - French crane rental company Limalev SAS has purchased an LTM 1055-3.3 mobile crane to expand its fleet. This Liebherr 55-tonne three-axle crane made its public debut at the 2025 Bauma trade fair, featuring a compact design and maneuverability. The model can carry up to 9 tonnes of counterweight with an axle load maintained at 12 tonnes, while offering a low self-weight and strong lifting capacity.
Limalev co-Managing Director Alexandra Da Rocha stated that the company is proud to be among the first in France to receive the LTM 1055-3.3. She noted that the 40-meter lightweight high-performance boom provides excellent lifting capacity during long-distance operations. Alexandra, together with her sister Elsa, took over the family business Limalev founded by their father. The company was established in Limoges in the 1960s, acquired by Enrique Da Rocha in 1994, and has been managed by the two sisters since 2023.
Limalev's fleet currently includes six mobile cranes, and both managing directors hold crane operator licenses. In recent years, the company has implemented a targeted investment strategy to match customer technical requirements. Adding this crane, described as the lightest three-axle all-terrain crane on the market, aims to enhance the fleet's versatility, performance, and operational flexibility.
The LTM 1055-3.3 is equipped with the LICCON3 crane control system and belongs to Liebherr's latest generation of mobile cranes. Elsa Da Rocha explained that thanks to the innovative trapezoidal outrigger base (including VarioBase® Plus), the crane can achieve load capacities comparable to higher-class cranes at large working radii, which is valuable for construction sites with limited space and difficult access.
The crane's low axle load helps improve flexibility and cost efficiency in daily use, eliminating the need for cumbersome permits, escort vehicles, or driving time restrictions in many markets. When transporting all 11 tonnes of ballast on a trailer and installing it in one go, it qualifies for a nationwide permanent driving permit in Germany without additional restrictions or driving conditions.
