en.Wedoany.com Reported - North Stawell Minerals (ASX:NSM) plans to advance a new round of diamond drilling following gold mineralization results from follow-up sampling at the Darlington and Caledonia targets within the Stawell Gold Mine in Victoria.
Recent 1-meter resampling of air-core drilling has refined the gold distribution patterns at Darlington and Caledonia. Drilling at the Darlington target has now delineated an 800-meter-long gold mineralization trend, which remains open to the south and at depth.
Multiple intercepts were obtained at the Darlington target, including 3 meters at 1.35 g/t gold from 44 meters depth, with 1 meter at 2.52 g/t gold from 45 meters depth; and 1 meter at 2.18 g/t gold from 29 meters depth in the southern extension.
Executive Director and Head of Exploration Bill Reid stated that these results confirm additional significant mineralization north and south of previous intercepts at Darlington.
Reid noted that the mineralization characteristics encountered show similarities to Mariners Reef style gold mineralization, indicating "an important gold system developed in the rocks above the deep basalt."
Drilling also identified potential additional mineralized structures 100 meters west of the current interpreted Darlington zone and delineated two anomalous gold zones.
North Stawell Minerals stated that the next step will focus on targeting high-grade mineralization within the system.
At the Caledonia prospect, drilling intersected 3 meters at 1.70 g/t gold from 35 meters depth, including 1 meter at 2.75 g/t gold from 35 meters depth. Other results include 1 meter at 1.86 g/t gold from 52 meters depth, and 1 meter at 1.41 g/t gold from 35 meters depth.
The company said these results provide further confidence in the potential for a larger gold system within the Darlington-Caledonia trend.
Reid added that mineralization at both prospects remains open in all directions. He stated that the company's interpretation suggests the potential for high-grade plunging shoots within lower-grade mineralization envelopes, representing high-value exploration targets. Subsequent programs will develop geological models based on these results to guide target selection.
North Stawell Minerals, a gold explorer focused on Australian projects, is concurrently advancing its assets within the Stawell mineralized corridor in Victoria.
