en.Wedoany.com Reported - Mitsubishi Electric has issued a letter of intent to acquire Infostellar, a company that provides Ground Segment as a Service (GSaaS) for in-orbit satellites through its self-developed StellarStation platform. This platform leverages cloud technology to virtually network global ground stations, enabling satellite operators to establish connections with satellites via a centralized service. Mitsubishi Electric announced the transaction on July 2.

Upon completion of the acquisition, both parties will work together to accelerate the global expansion of the ground station network and build high-quality, reliable space communication infrastructure. Mitsubishi Electric's capabilities in satellite and ground facility development, manufacturing, and system integration will complement Infostellar's GSaaS platform and agile development expertise.
The two parties plan to jointly develop space communication infrastructure tailored to the needs of small satellite constellation operators, aiming to reduce their initial investment and operational burdens. Mitsubishi Electric and Infostellar seek to explore new business models in the aerospace industry and promote the sustainable development of space-based activities.
Infostellar CEO Naomi Kurahara stated in the announcement that joining the Mitsubishi Electric Group represents a new step forward, given Mitsubishi Electric's long history and solid technical capabilities in the space sector. Integrating both parties' technical strengths will accelerate the development of a large-scale ground station network, making it an indispensable component of space infrastructure and thereby contributing to the advancement of the aerospace industry.
