en.Wedoany.com Reported - FireFly Metals (ASX:FFM) plans to incorporate recent drilling results into an updated economic study, expected to be completed between July and August 2026. This update is based on assay results from its Green Bay copper-gold project in Newfoundland, Canada. The company stated that the drilling results demonstrate the continuity of the high-grade core zone, including intercepts of 42 meters at 6.10% copper equivalent (CuEq) and 9.80 meters at 16.50% CuEq. Managing Director Steve Parsons noted that the combination of grade and thickness is significant. Within the 800-meter-long high-grade core zone, drilling continues to deliver thick intercepts, including 51.50 meters at 4.90% CuEq and 50.20 meters at 4.00% CuEq. Results from infill drilling will be reflected in the measured and indicated resources, which are critical to the economic study.

Intercepts from the upper VMS mineralized zone include 20.70 meters at 7.70% CuEq and 25.90 meters at 6.40% CuEq. The footwall mineralized zone yielded intercepts of 35.70 meters at 3.30% CuEq and 43.50 meters at 3.00% CuEq. The current mineral resource for the Green Bay project stands at 50.4 million tonnes at 2.00% CuEq in the measured and indicated category, and 29.3 million tonnes at 2.50% CuEq in the inferred category. The high-grade core zone contains 8.8 million tonnes at 3.90% CuEq in measured and indicated resources, and 10.9 million tonnes at 3.80% CuEq in inferred resources. Six drill rigs continue underground operations at the Ming mine, while regional exploration is also advancing, with drilling on geophysical targets and the Tilt Cove project having commenced its first drilling program. Parsons stated that the company plans to continue growing and upgrading resources while conducting economic and technical studies. The drilling results will be incorporated into an updated mid-year resource estimate, providing the basis for a preliminary economic assessment that will highlight multiple potential development scenarios. FireFly Metals is a copper-gold development company advancing its flagship Green Bay project in Newfoundland and holding interests in the Limestone Well vanadium-titanium project in Western Australia.
