en.Wedoany.com Reported - Taruga Minerals (ASX:TAR) has reported multiple gold-silver rock chip assay results from its East Normanby Gold Project in Papua New Guinea, confirming mineralization has extended into the broader Weioko Gold Zone.
Taruga obtained six samples with gold grades above 0.50 g/t from the Lataona Hill and Sipupu prospects, with standout results including 3.20 g/t gold and 22 g/t silver, 2.20 g/t gold, and 1.00 g/t gold with 30 g/t silver.
Non-Executive Chairman Paul Cronin said the assays from North Weioko confirmed what the geology had been telling the company.
"This is a story of a large-scale epithermal gold system, not a single deposit. Multiple high-grade centers are emerging at Lataona Hill and Sipupu, and the geochemical pathfinder element assemblage is exactly what is typical of large low-sulfidation systems. Float characteristics point to upstream areas, which the company can now access with newly granted licenses," Cronin said.
These results support the presence of a structurally coherent gold-silver epithermal system in the northern area, with classic low-temperature sulfide textures observed, including bladed quartz, vuggy silica, chalcedonic breccia, and adularia.
Elevated arsenic and antimony pathfinder elements coincide with gold-silver values, further supporting the interpretation of a gold-silver epithermal system.
Oxidized quartz breccia sample 701220 from Sipupu returned the highest gold grade of 3.20 g/t and 22 g/t silver, while sample 701236 from silicified breccia and quartz veins returned 2.20 g/t gold and 7.70 g/t silver.
Most gold-bearing samples came from stream float, indicating the mineralized source remains upstream and untested. Sample 701703 returned 66 g/t silver, suggesting a silver-bearing vein system may occur further upstream.
The broader Weioko area extends approximately 8 kilometers in strike length from Sipupu in the north, through Lataona Hill and Weioko, to Wenasia in the south.
In surface sampling completed by Taruga in late 2025 and early 2026, rock chip results of up to 23.20 g/t gold were obtained at Weioko, and 2.40 g/t gold with 82 g/t silver at Wenasia.
With the recent grant of licenses EL2590, EL2830, and EL2831, the company now holds three exploration licenses at East Normanby, covering a total area of 488 square kilometers.
Taruga is advancing drill site preparation and access road construction at the Weioko Gold Deposit. Historical drilling at this deposit returned intercepts including 64.6 meters at 2.20 g/t gold from surface, and 108 meters at 2.40 g/t gold (including 28 meters at 4.90 g/t gold).
