This project is the largest and highest-standard traffic tunnel group in the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone, with a total tunnel mileage of 14.64 kilometers, all designed to bidirectional six-lane traffic standards. As a result, the north-south travel time within the zone has been reduced from 45 minutes to 25 minutes, significantly improving regional commuting efficiency.
The Binhe West Road rapid transit project is divided into two major construction sections: surface roads and the tunnel group. The surface road spans 25.16 kilometers, with a road red line width of 79 meters, a design speed of 60 km/h, and a high-standard layout of bidirectional ten lanes. A total of 11 tunnels have been built as supporting facilities, all with bidirectional six-lane traffic standards, serving as the core traffic corridor for north-south travel within the zone. Among them, the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone project department participated in construction tasks such as the main structure, drainage, and fire pump room structures for tunnels S1 to S8.
