en.Wedoany.com Reported - China has expressed its willingness to cooperate with the United States to create favorable conditions for expanding bilateral agricultural trade following recent economic and trade consultations. He Yadong, spokesperson for China's Ministry of Commerce, stated at a regular press conference on Thursday that agricultural trade remains a key pillar of economic and commercial cooperation between China and the US.
In response to a question about whether China would reduce or eliminate tariffs on US agricultural products, He Yadong said that the two countries have reached broad consensus during recent consultations on promoting larger-scale two-way agricultural trade. According to He Yadong, both sides have established guiding targets for expanding agricultural trade and have agreed in principle to include relevant agricultural products in a reciprocal tariff reduction framework. The spokesperson added that commercial transactions will continue to be conducted independently by enterprises based on market principles, actual demand, and prevailing market conditions.
He Yadong did not specify which agricultural products would be included in the proposed tariff arrangement, nor did he provide a timeline for implementation. The latest remarks indicate that after recent rounds of trade dialogue, Beijing and Washington are working to stabilize bilateral economic relations through pragmatic cooperation in key areas, including agriculture.
