en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dimension News, As of July 6, 2026, the China-Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) Logistics Cooperation Base has cumulatively operated over 8,000 China-Europe freight trains, marking new progress in the construction of cross-border logistics corridors for this first implemented physical project under the Belt and Road Initiative.
In the first half of this year, the China-Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) Logistics Cooperation Base cumulatively operated 485 China-Europe (Asia) freight trains, a year-on-year increase of 3.8%, with container throughput reaching 140,000 TEUs, achieving the target of "half the time, half the task" for key operational indicators. Notably, in June alone, the base's monthly operation of China-Europe (Asia) freight trains exceeded 100 for the first time, setting a historic monthly record.
While maintaining stable operations on traditional westbound train corridors, the base has further expanded multimodal transport routes such as the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan road-rail transport, and on the basis of stable operations of dedicated trains for wheat, potash fertilizer, daily necessities, etc., it has expanded over 20 types of specialized cargo trains including auto parts, books, household appliances, and photovoltaic products. The base has deployed four border crossing ports: Alashankou, Horgos, Erenhot, and Manzhouli, and opened five premium train routes for Central Asia and China-Europe, achieving full coverage of major cities in Central Asia.
