en.Wedoany.com Reported - Argent LNG has awarded GIS Engineering an engineering services contract to provide marine, environmental, and site engineering services for its proposed 25 million tonnes per annum liquefied natural gas export terminal at Port Fourchon, Louisiana, in support of federal permit applications.

The engineering work will support Argent LNG's pre-filing application currently being submitted to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and is part of the next phase of technical studies required for the project's environmental assessment.

GIS Engineering, headquartered in Galliano, Louisiana, will provide a range of engineering and environmental services, including storm surge analysis, marine traffic and vessel simulation studies, marine facility design, floodwall engineering, site preparation, and wetland delineation and mitigation.

Argent LNG stated that the engineering deliverables will be developed to FERC filing standards and incorporated into the project's permit documentation under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Jonathan Bass, Chairman and CEO of Argent LNG, said that the award of this contract reflects the company's commitment to executing the regulatory roadmap with the rigor and discipline required by the project's scale; each deliverable under the contract brings it closer to completing the FERC filing.

According to the company, the contract was awarded following the submission of 11 resource reports to FERC, covering topics such as water resources, wildlife, cultural resources, land use, air quality, and project alternatives.

Argent LNG stated that as it moves toward a final investment decision, the company will continue to advance permitting, commercial offtake discussions, financing activities, and other development work for the proposed export facility.
