en.Wedoany.com Reported - Equinor has completed the installation of the PLEM for the Raia project at a water depth of approximately 2,700 meters in Brazil's Campos Basin. This subsea equipment connects the FPSO risers to the pipeline transporting natural gas to shore. Located in the pre-salt region, approximately 200 kilometers from the coast and at water depths of up to 2,900 meters, the Raia project holds recoverable oil and gas reserves exceeding 1 billion barrels of oil equivalent.

The project adopts an FPSO and subsea well tie-back development scheme, with natural gas transported via a subsea pipeline approximately 200 kilometers long to the Cabiúnas Gas Processing Unit in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro State. The pipeline has a daily transmission capacity of 16 million cubic meters of natural gas, expected to meet approximately 15% of Brazil's natural gas demand. The FPSO processes approximately 126,000 barrels of oil and condensate per day, with a carbon dioxide emission intensity of about 6 kilograms per barrel of oil equivalent, below the industry average.

The Raia project is currently Equinor's largest project under construction and its largest international investment, with a total investment of approximately USD 9 billion. The project is operated by Equinor (35%), with partners including Repsol Sinopec (35%) and Petrobras (30%), and is expected to commence production in 2028. As one of the major natural gas projects currently under development in Brazil, it holds recoverable reserves exceeding 1 billion barrels of oil equivalent and is expected to create up to 50,000 jobs over its 30-year lifecycle.
