This investment is one of Thames Water's largest wastewater infrastructure projects under the Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8) framework.

The upgrade will increase treatment capacity by approximately 40% to accommodate future population growth and improve effluent quality discharged into the River Thames. As part of Thames Water's AMP8 capital investment program, the project includes enhancements to power supply, increased storm tank capacity, and higher wastewater flow rates, aimed at strengthening long-term network resilience.
