en.Wedoany.com Reported - Alchemy & Critical Metals (ACM) has signed a reservation contract with aicep Global Parques to build an antimony refinery in the Sines Industrial and Logistics Zone (ZILS), Portugal. The agreement was signed on June 15.

The refinery is planned to produce 10,000 metric tons of antimony metal annually, with 7,500 tons from primary production and 2,500 tons from recycling processes, reflecting circular economy principles. The project covers an area of 131,000 square meters, developed under a 30-year land use right, and is expected to commence operations in 2030.
The plant is projected to create approximately 150 high-skilled direct jobs and around 300 indirect jobs, contributing to regional economic development.
Antimony is recognized as a critical raw material by the European Union, widely used in energy, semiconductors, mobility, and defense sectors. This project aims to enhance Europe's antimony processing capacity, supporting the security and resilience of strategic supply chains. According to aicep Global Parques, the ZILS location fully leverages Sines' logistics, energy, and port conditions, making it highly attractive for strategic industrial projects.
