en.Wedoany.com Reported - Brazilian concessionaires Way-112 and Way-306, in partnership with telecom operator TIM, have completed a 630-kilometer mobile connectivity project on the MS-112, MS-306, BR-158, and BR-436 highways in Mato Grosso do Sul state, which has been operational for one year. This infrastructure consists of 52 4G mobile communication towers distributed along the concession stretch and 300 cameras connected to an operations control center. The mobile coverage serves approximately 270,000 people across eight cities, including rural areas, villages, and agricultural regions, and is open to all users along the entire concession route.

The 300 cameras installed at strategic locations use the 4G LTE network to transmit high-definition images to the operations control center. According to the concessionaire, these devices employ artificial intelligence technology to assist in accident identification, license plate reading, and monitoring of wildlife in protected areas.

André Kazuo, IT Manager of the Way Brasil Group, stated that using the mobile network eliminates the need to lay fiber optic infrastructure along the highways. This technology can expand monitoring capabilities and reduce response times in critical situations, bringing greater safety to road users. The project also enables communication between traffic inspection teams, ambulances, tow trucks, and mechanical rescue teams, and sends team location information through the operations control center for remote monitoring of equipment installed along the route. Some equipment is powered by solar panels, reducing the use of the conventional power grid in the operation of telecommunications infrastructure.

TIM stated that its 4G network covers over 11,000 kilometers of highways in Brazil, targeting logistics and infrastructure applications. In the project for concessionaires Way-112 and Way-306, the mobile network is used to connect 300 cameras distributed along the stretch, covering a total of 630 kilometers of managed roads.
