en.Wedoany.com Reported - Belgian family-owned logistics company H.Essers has entered the US market by acquiring American chemical warehousing company Palmer Logistics, establishing its first operational foothold and unveiling expansion plans.

H.Essers stated that this move aims to support clients with operations spanning North America and Europe. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Houston-based Palmer, founded in 1965, operates 14 facilities with a warehousing capacity of approximately 3.8 million square feet, primarily concentrated along the Gulf Coast. Its 350 employees and entire management team will remain, with President Brett Mears continuing to oversee daily operations.

Mears said the choice of H.Essers was based on shared values and respect for Palmer's past achievements. He noted that H.Essers, as a family business, has a long operating history, deep chemical logistics expertise, and a long-term vision. He believes this is the right choice for customers and employees, with the team, locations, and services remaining unchanged, but backed by a stronger transatlantic platform.

H.Essers plans to expand its footprint in the US based on Palmer's existing operations. CEO Gert Bervoets stated that the company aims to increase US business revenue from $70 million to $300 million within five years. He described this as a goal driven by the needs of European and American chemical clients, adding that the US is increasingly becoming the core of the chemical industry, and the company intends to play a leading role.

The Gulf Coast will serve as the starting point for expansion, reflecting the concentration of chemical manufacturing in Texas and Louisiana. H.Essers said it plans to further expand to other parts of the US in the future, including the East and West Coasts.

Company executives noted that many European clients already operate in the US, while H.Essers also serves US-based clients in Europe. This integration aims to enable the company to provide cross-regional support to these clients.

Bervoets said H.Essers has been operating for nearly a century, making decisions based on client needs in 2035 rather than current trends. He pointed out that a significant portion of the chemical industry is shifting its focus to the US.

Palmer will gradually integrate into H.Essers, with the brand change phased in. The company stated that during the transition, all locations, client relationships, and service levels will remain unchanged.
