en.Wedoany.com Reported - Orange Polska is advancing fiber optic network construction in the Obrowo Commune near Toruń, Poland. The commune government has confirmed to residents that the project is being progressively implemented by the company and its subcontractors. The investment covers several subsequent towns, with earthworks and telecommunications infrastructure installation underway to prepare for the launch of modern internet services.

Commune Mayor Andrzej Wieczyński stated that the expansion of fiber optic infrastructure is a significant investment for residents, as fast internet access has become a fundamental element of local community development. Although the commune government does not directly implement the investment, it is working to ensure that subsequent towns gain access to modern fiber optic services. The investment is being carried out under the "2021–2027 European Digital Development Fund" (FERC).
Deputy Mayor Joanna Zielińska added that the commune government continuously monitors work progress and maintains daily contact with representatives of Orange Polska and its subcontractors to address challenges arising from the investment. The final result will connect 4,500 households to fiber optics, with the outcomes serving the local community for years to come.
The Obrowo Commune has a total of 7,684 address points. According to the report "Fixed Internet Access Coverage in Poland," as of the end of March 2026, 5,673 address points were covered by fixed broadband services.
