en.Wedoany.com Reported - The first 100MW-scale high-voltage cascade energy storage project in Haixi Prefecture, Qinghai Province—the Qinghai Delingha Tuosu 150MW Electrochemical Energy Storage Power Station EPC General Contracting Project, undertaken by PowerChina Hubei Engineering Co., Ltd.—has officially been connected to the grid. This project will provide significant support for the construction of Qinghai's national clean energy industry highland and the realization of the national "dual carbon" goals.

Located in the West Exit Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal Park of Delingha City, Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, at an average altitude of approximately 3,200 meters, this project is a peak-shaving energy storage supporting facility for a large-scale new energy base in the Gobi Desert. The project scope includes the supporting energy storage system for Phase I (1,000MW photovoltaic construction) of the Delingha 2,200MW Multi-Energy Complementary Project, and is undertaken by the Power Engineering Company under Hubei Engineering Company.
Once completed and operational, the project will provide reliable peak-shaving support for the regional power grid, effectively enhance the grid's capacity to accommodate new energy, support Qinghai's "local consumption + cross-provincial transmission" dual-cycle power structure, and ensure stable delivery for green electricity transmission channels such as the Qinghai-Henan UHVDC project.

This project will also provide dual-route comparison and selection empirical samples for energy storage projects in Qinghai and even the high-altitude regions of Northwest China, solidifying the foundation for building Qinghai's national clean energy industry highland. It is of great significance for ensuring the safe development of new energy bases in Northwest China, supporting cross-provincial green electricity transmission, and improving the regulation resources of the new-type power system.
