en.Wedoany.com Reported - KazMunayGas (KMG), Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company, presented several key project plans in the natural gas supply sector at a government meeting, aiming to increase commercial natural gas production from 24 billion cubic meters per year to 45 billion cubic meters per year by 2030.

At a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, KMG head Askhat Khasenov introduced the projects under implementation. According to the plan, liquefied petroleum gas production will increase from 1.3 million tons to 1.5 million tons over the same period. The second phase of the Rozhkov oil field development in the West Kazakhstan Region is expected to boost natural gas production capacity to 700 million cubic meters per year by 2028. The first start-up complex of the West Prorva oil field in the Atyrau Region has been put into operation with a design capacity of 200 million cubic meters; the second phase plans to increase this indicator to 920 million cubic meters by 2027. The Central Oriktao project in the Aktobe Region is also progressing, with a target raw natural gas production capacity of 200 million cubic meters per year by the end of the year, subsequently increasing gradually to 1 billion cubic meters per year.

Khasenov stated that the projects adopt a cluster approach, considering the processing capacity of natural gas processing plants near the oil fields to shorten commissioning time and reduce infrastructure costs. Through these investment projects, an additional production of approximately 2.1 billion cubic meters of commercial natural gas and 250,000 tons of liquefied gas per year is expected. A new natural gas processing plant is under construction in the city of Zhanaozen, with a design annual processing capacity of 900 million cubic meters of raw natural gas. The plant adopts a modular construction approach; nine storage tanks have been delivered, and the remaining four are in transit; of the 259 components for long-lead equipment, 92 have been completed, and 167 are being manufactured. Additionally, KMG is implementing several geological exploration projects to build a long-term resource base, including "Karaton-Podsolovoy" (Atyrau Region), "Bolashak" (Mangystau Region), "Zhylyoi" (Atyrau Region), "Berezovsky" (West Kazakhstan Region), and "Shu-Sarysu" (Kyzylorda Region).

To improve oil field development efficiency, KMG is introducing digital twin technology based on its ABAI artificial intelligence system, covering the full cycle from geological exploration to surface infrastructure operations. Digital twins have currently been implemented at 12 large oil fields, covering 87% of the company's reserves. Khasenov stated that the expected total results by 2030 are an additional 2.8 million tons of oil and 500 million cubic meters of associated gas.
