en.Wedoany.com Reported - Vodafone España has signed a five-year strategic agreement with Dell Technologies to expand its data center capacity in Spain, in response to growing service demands in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, edge computing, and advanced data analytics.

Vodafone Spain Expands Data Center with Dell

Under the agreement, Vodafone will strengthen its digital infrastructure using Dell APEX Infrastructure's flexible pay-per-use model. This model allows the operator to consume computing, storage, and cloud resources based on actual capacity needs. Dell will manage and fully support the infrastructure newly deployed at Vodafone's data centers in Spain.

The public and private sectors in Spain are accelerating their digital transformation. The continuous rise in AI, Internet of Things (IoT), advanced analytics, and cloud service workloads is directly driving demand for data storage and processing. Vodafone's expansion aims to enhance its ability to deliver locally hosted high-performance services, ensuring that enterprises and public institutions have access to secure, scalable infrastructure to support critical applications and future projects.

Data center modernization will increase storage capacity and improve the performance of platforms used by Vodafone Business customers. Through Dell APEX's flexible consumption model, the operator can adjust infrastructure based on actual market demand without incurring high upfront investments. This approach helps improve financial efficiency by aligning operational costs with actual resource usage, while accelerating the launch of new digital services.

The two companies stated that the new solutions will incorporate energy efficiency improvements to reduce resource consumption, supporting sustainability and decarbonization goals within Spain's digital ecosystem.

Carlos Becker, Director of Marketing and Business Development at Vodafone Business, said the agreement will strengthen Spain's ability to manage and process strategic data domestically. Isabel Reis, General Manager of Dell Technologies for Iberia, emphasized that the collaboration enables flexible responses to market demands, supporting the development of cloud, AI, and edge computing services. "Our partnership with Vodafone Spain reflects Dell Technologies' commitment to driving Spain's digital economy," Reis said, by providing scalable and energy-efficient infrastructure that allows Vodafone to quickly respond to local needs and deliver cloud services to its customers.

As part of the agreement, Dell will assume full lifecycle management of the storage infrastructure, including hardware and software maintenance, monitoring, updates, and technical support under guaranteed service level agreements. This management model enables Vodafone to focus on developing new services for enterprises and public institutions, while ensuring high levels of availability, security, and operational continuity.

For Vodafone Business customers, this expansion will bring greater storage and processing capacity, faster response times, and infrastructure to support AI, cloud-native applications, and other digital transformation projects, all hosted within Spain.
