en.Wedoany.com Reported - Flex Ltd. (NASDAQ: FLEX), an electronic manufacturing services provider, and Cerebras Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: CBRS), an artificial intelligence chip company, jointly announced on July 9, 2026, that they will further expand their manufacturing partnership. Under the plan, Flex will add multiple new assembly and integration lines at its facility in Milpitas, California, aiming to increase production capacity of the Cerebras CS-3 AI accelerator system by approximately seven times within 2026.
Cerebras Systems, a company focused on AI infrastructure, is valued at $41.2 billion. The CS-3 system is based on Cerebras' industry-leading wafer-scale engine architecture, with a processor physical size exceeding that of any traditional AI chip. The system integrates advanced liquid cooling, high-density power delivery, precision mechanical assembly, and network infrastructure, designed for large-scale AI training and inference tasks.
The expansion plan includes adding new production lines, expanding factory floor space, upgrading testing infrastructure, and hiring more skilled manufacturing personnel in California. Flex is building dedicated manufacturing capacity for Cerebras in Milpitas, with multiple new assembly and integration lines expected to become operational within 2026. Production operations at the Milpitas facility cover precision mechanical assembly, high-power electrical integration, liquid cooling system installation, optical network validation, and full-system rack certification.
Dhiraj Mallick, Chief Operating Officer of Cerebras, stated: "The CS-3 is an unprecedented computer system, and scaling its production requires an exceptional manufacturing partner." Rob Campbell, President of Communications, Enterprise, and Cloud at Flex, noted: "The CS-3 is fundamentally different from traditional servers or rack-level computing platforms. Every stage of the manufacturing process demands deep collaboration from our engineering teams."
Flex is a global provider of manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics solutions, headquartered in Singapore with operations in over 30 countries. This expansion has also driven growth in local manufacturing jobs, with new positions covering system integration, quality management, supply chain, and testing. As demand for AI infrastructure accelerates, this partnership marks a significant expansion of advanced manufacturing capabilities in the United States.
The production expansion coincides with Cerebras' rapid business growth. The company reported revenue of $604 million over the past 12 months, an 88% year-over-year increase. Recent first-quarter fiscal 2026 results showed revenue of $191.3 million, up 92% year-over-year. Multiple institutions maintain "buy" or "outperform" ratings on the company.
