en.Wedoany.com Reported - Schneider Electric has launched the EasyPact NW air circuit breaker in the South African market, aiming to provide an economical yet high-performance power distribution solution for non-critical low-voltage applications. This product belongs to Schneider Electric's Easy series and is suitable for scenarios such as commercial buildings, light to medium industries, utilities, and residential developments.
The launch of the EasyPact NW fills a long-standing gap in the local market for this product tier, enabling system integrators, panel builders, contractors, and end users to obtain a fully functional air circuit breaker at a lower cost while maintaining Schneider Electric's consistent standards of protection, safety, and quality. Economic pressures in South Africa, rising construction costs, and the demand for reliable power distribution have accelerated the market's need for low-voltage solutions that balance affordability and reliability. The EasyPact NW directly responds to this shift, offering "the right cost, the right performance" for applications that do not require the full capabilities of Schneider Electric's high-end series.
Canninah Dladla, Cluster President of Schneider Electric for Sub-Saharan Africa, stated that South African customers are increasingly seeking cost-effective power distribution solutions while expecting basic protection and performance from a global technology leader. The EasyPact NW is precisely a simplified, reliable, and digitally accessible circuit breaker designed for non-critical environments. Dladla added that the product builds on Schneider Electric's long-standing Masterpact NT/NW series, leveraging the proven genes of premium circuit breakers and making advanced features available at a more affordable price through value engineering design.
Key advantages of the EasyPact NW for the South African market include: cost-effective protection for non-critical applications, simplified installation and operation, enhanced safety features (overload, short-circuit, and ground fault protection), and digital access via NFC—users can view device status, diagnostics, and event logs from a smartphone using the Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Power Device application, accelerating troubleshooting and reducing downtime. Additionally, the compact modular design supports space savings and integrates with EcoStruxure Power Commission and EcoStruxure Power Device software, simplifying design, commissioning, and operation.
In terms of technical specifications, the EasyPact NW offers a breaking capacity of up to 66 kA, current ratings covering 630 A to 4000 A, an intelligent trip system with thermal memory, a color-coded health status indicator with pre-alarm and alarm functions, NFC wireless connectivity, and an integrated QR code for diagnostics. All 4-pole circuit breakers come with a full-rated neutral conductor and comply with IEC 60947-2 and IEC 60947-3 standards. Dladla emphasized that the EasyPact NW will play a key role in strengthening Schneider Electric South Africa's complete low-voltage distribution product portfolio, forming a full economical product series from air circuit breakers to miniature circuit breakers alongside existing products.
