en.Wedoany.com Reported - Hanwha Qcells will undertake the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a large-scale renewable energy complex in the United States. The solar company, a subsidiary of Hanwha Solutions, confirmed on July 10 that it has been appointed as the EPC contractor for the Atlas Energy Park.

Located in La Paz County, Arizona, the project spans approximately 63.66 square kilometers and includes 14 integrated solar power and energy storage system (ESS) sub-projects. The complex is planned for completion by 2028, at which point it will have 2.8 gigawatts (GW) of photovoltaic power generation capacity and 5.7 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of battery storage capacity. Hanwha Qcells will also supply all solar modules for the park.

In May of this year, the company completed the sale of two 357-megawatt (MW) solar power plants, both of which were built by Hanwha Qcells serving as both project developer and EPC contractor. After eight years of operation in the North American EPC market, Hanwha Qcells has built or is developing renewable energy projects totaling over 11 GW of solar power capacity and 6 GWh of storage capacity.

Hanwha Qcells stated that its Solar Hub in Georgia can stably supply domestically manufactured solar modules, and combined with the US-based energy storage equipment supply chain, provides strong support for the project. Using American-made equipment allows the project to qualify for incentives under the Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and the Domestic Content Bonus Credit (DCBC).
