en.Wedoany.com Reported - The People's Government of Guangdong Province and JD Group signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement on July 11, 2026, in Huangpu District, Guangzhou, China. The two parties will focus on building an all-round strategic partnership across nine major areas: consumption development, modern logistics, digital economy, smart healthcare, home services, supply chain construction, modern agriculture, government-enterprise cooperation, and regional headquarters development. As the first physical benchmark project under this agreement, JD Property's RoboBase project broke ground on the same day in the core area of Guangzhou Huangpu Science City. This marks JD's first RoboBase project globally in the robotics field.

JD Group has designated robotics and artificial intelligence as key strategic directions for the next five years. The RoboBase project, which has broken ground, has a total construction area of approximately 190,000 square meters and is positioned as an integrated carrier of "high-end manufacturing + technological innovation + ecological services." The project is expected to be fully completed by the end of 2028, with production commencing in 2029. Upon reaching full capacity, it is projected to generate an annual output value of approximately 1.75 billion yuan. The park will feature diverse formats including a green ecological park, R&D centers, and standalone headquarters, encompassing functions such as R&D and design, production and manufacturing, pilot-scale result transformation, corporate headquarters, product exhibition, and production support.

JD's first RoboBase project lands in Guangzhou, building a full lifecycle industrial infrastructure for robotics

JD stated that the RoboBase project is a full lifecycle robotics industry infrastructure built by JD Property based on JD Group's business ecosystem. With the goal of integrating "R&D—Manufacturing—Application—Service," it aims to create a complete ecological closed loop for the robotics industry. The project focuses on three major tracks: core robotics components, complete machine manufacturing, and high-end intelligent equipment. It will primarily attract enterprises in embodied intelligence, industrial robots, service robots, and upstream and downstream supply chain companies, establishing an innovation center and intelligent manufacturing demonstration base in the Greater Bay Area that integrates robotics R&D and pilot testing, flexible manufacturing, scenario demonstration, industry exhibition and sales, and enterprise support. Liang Mian, Deputy General Manager of JD Property's South China Region, stated that JD Property does not directly engage in robotics R&D and manufacturing but acts as an "industrial infrastructure operator," reducing the landing costs for robotics enterprises through high-standard infrastructure and industrial services. Leveraging Huangpu District's industrial foundation and supportive policies, the project will help enterprises achieve a smooth transition from R&D to the market.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, a signing ceremony for the JD Embodied Intelligence × Service Consumption Industry-Education Integration Order Class was also held. Ten vocational colleges in Guangdong Province participated in the centralized signing, focusing on cultivating high-skilled talent in fields such as embodied intelligence and modern service consumption. At the event, over 30 robotics companies, including Zhiyuan Robot, Leju Robot, Shoucheng Robot, GAC Robot, Wuba Intelligent, Luming Robot, Qingtong Vision, and Yuejiang Robot, participated together.

The RoboBase project represents JD's core strategic layout in the advanced manufacturing and robotics sectors. Once completed, the project will leverage JD's comprehensive advantages in supply chain, large models, real-world scenarios, and industrial capital to provide one-stop services for upstream and downstream enterprises in the robotics industry chain, including physical carriers, smart operations and maintenance, policy alignment, production and sales empowerment, and financing development. As the first physical benchmark of the strategic cooperation between Guangdong Province and JD, the project's implementation will help cultivate new momentum for the robotics and intelligent manufacturing industry in Guangdong, promoting the construction of a globally influential industrial technology innovation center.
