en.Wedoany.com Reported - XCharge has launched the GridOne system, an integrated photovoltaic and energy storage all-in-one device designed to manage power loads for commercial and industrial facilities and stabilize the grid. The system provides a central hardware platform for coordinating renewable energy generation, facility energy demand, and high-capacity electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Photovoltaic system for grid stabilization

The hardware architecture serves as a compact integrated commercial energy storage system, incorporating a 125 kW power conversion system and a 215 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack. The unit can be equipped with an optional 50 kW photovoltaic maximum power point tracking interface for direct capture of renewable energy generation. By storing excess solar energy on-site and discharging it during periods of high electricity demand, commercial facilities can reduce peak-time grid charges and avoid costly physical upgrades to municipal power infrastructure.

The system supports multiple industrial communication protocols, including Ethernet, Modbus TCP/RTU, RS485, and CAN bus. Integration with the Open Charge Point Protocol 1.6J enables the system to communicate directly with electric vehicle charging stations, allowing automatic regulation of EV charging to prioritize stored solar energy over grid power. The platform supports scalable parallel operation of multiple units for microgrid configurations and can operate in both grid-connected mode and off-grid mode without a grid connection.

This expansion into dedicated energy storage follows XCharge's selection as EnBW's supplier for fast charging infrastructure in Europe. As high-power charging deployments increase, installation feasibility increasingly depends on localized energy management. XCharge co-CEO Albina Iljasov stated that GridOne helps operators use energy more flexibly, reduce peak loads, and manage charging infrastructure more cost-effectively, even with limited grid capacity. The integrated solution was showcased at the ees Europe and Power2Drive Europe trade fairs in Munich, Germany, in June 2024.

In the commercial and industrial battery energy storage system market, the 215 kWh lithium iron phosphate unit competes with hardware such as Sungrow's PowerTitan series or Alfen's TheBattery configuration. At this capacity level, integrating a 50 kW photovoltaic maximum power point tracker directly into the energy storage chassis eliminates the need for a separate external solar inverter. By consolidating the power conversion system, lithium iron phosphate cells, and solar inverter within a single physical space, these integrated architectures reduce installation footprint and lower the electrical complexity associated with synchronizing discrete AC-coupled and DC-coupled power sources.
