Vietnam Metal Recycling Association Visits China to Deepen Collaboration in the Recycled Metals Industry

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 10, members of the Vietnam Metal Recycling Forum (VMRF), including Anh, Tran Thi Van and Phuong, Hoang Minh, visited the headquarters of Shanghai Metals Market (SMM). SMM CEO Lu Jialong, along with Senior Overseas Market Manager Dong Rujun, Recycled Metals Head Zhang Xiaoyao, Overseas Market Manager Zhan Xinlin, and Senior Customer Manager of the Overseas Aluminum Division Song Yingcai, hosted the delegation. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as services for the Southeast Asian recycled metals industry chain, overseas expansion, and collaboration on industry summits.

During the exchange, SMM introduced its latest global strategic layout to the visiting guests. Leveraging strong demand from the Southeast Asian, African, and South Asian markets, SMM has established new offices in Vietnam and South Korea, while simultaneously adding overseas offices in India and Zambia, forming a multi-regional overseas hub matrix. Relying on localized networks, SMM will provide more efficient one-stop market service support to partners in the recycled metals, aluminum, lead-acid, and ferrous metals industries in Vietnam, ASEAN, and globally.

SMM also briefed the association on three major industry events in ASEAN for the second half of the year: the SMM AICE 2026 Southeast Asia (Vietnam) Aluminum Conference and the SMM LABC Global Lead-Acid Battery Supply Chain Industry Conference, both to be held in Ho Chi Minh City on November 19-20 and November 23-24, respectively, as well as the 2026 ASEAN Ferrous Metals Industry Summit scheduled for November 26-27 in Malaysia.

In 2025, SMM Chairman Fan Xin, accompanied by Overseas Market Manager Zhan Xinlin, visited the VMRF local team in Vietnam. They introduced the association to SMM's core businesses and comprehensive service capabilities, including full-category commodity information, price data, industry research, and conferences and exhibitions, thereby establishing an initial communication bridge between the two parties. This return visit by VMRF marks a continued intensification of their cooperation.

VMRF was established to connect enterprises, recycling plants, traders, and partners in Vietnam's metal recycling industry. Serving as a platform for sharing information, reports, market trends, and technology, it is committed to helping members achieve sustainable development and enhance industry standards.
